Ancon Teplo, a range of innovative basalt-fibre wall ties, has virtually eliminated thermal bridging in the insulated external masonry walls of the Centre of Medicine in Leicester - the UK’s largest non-residential PassivHaus.
This widely recognised energy performance standard utilises a fabric-first approach, relying on a very high level of thermal efficiency in the external envelope to minimise energy demands and provide a stable and comfortable internal environment.
A combination of over 10,000 Teplo cavity wall ties and Teplo-L frame cramps, suitable for a 300mm cavity, were installed on this certified PassivHaus and BREEAM Excellent project.
With a thermal conductivity of just 0.7W/mK, the Teplo range is excluded from U-value calculations.
