Visit us at Futurebuild 2019

Next week at Futurebuild (5th – 7th March, London ExCeL), Ancon will showcase a range of products that are fully compliant with The Building (Amendment) Regulations 2018 – the Government’s ban on combustible materials in external walls, following a review of fire safety in high-rise residential buildings.

Ancon, a three-time winner of the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, will present a range of innovative, high integrity fixings for masonry and concrete construction on stand number C82.

The product displays will include a comprehensive range of Class A1 non-combustible stainless steel masonry supports, restraints and reinforcements.

In addition, Ancon’s range of insulated balcony connectors will be on show to help building designers meet their thermal performance aspirations. This recently-improved range features Class A1 non-combustible insulation, reinforcement and steelwork, making it fully compliant with The Building (Amendment) Regulations 2018 and therefore suitable for all high-rise residential buildings.

Also under the spotlight will be Ancon’s fixings for structural concrete frames. New to the range are two products which simplify slab-to-wall concrete connections and provide continuity of reinforcement - the CB Coupler Box and the KSN Anchor Box.

The Ancon stand provides visitors with an excellent opportunity to talk one-to-one with our experienced technical and sales representatives, who will be happy to help with specific project requirements.

Futurebuild 2019 is the evolution of Ecobuild, the industry event bringing together opinion-shapers, decision-makers and product innovators to explore the latest thinking and debate the biggest issues facing the built environment now and in the future.

Government Ban on Combustible Materials in

High-Rise Residential Buildings

The Government has amended the Building Regulations to prohibit the use of combustible materials in the external walls of buildings in England over 18 metres that contain at least one dwelling.

This ban is the result of a review of fire safety, following the Grenfell tower tragedy.

In this latest blog post, Ancon answers a number of questions about the new regulation.
