Shear Load Connectors
Concrete structures are designed with expansion and contraction joints to allow movement to take place. Dowels are used to transfer shear load across these joints. The design of the joint is important for the overall design of the structure to function correctly.
Leviat’s range of Ancon shear load connectors offers significant advantages over plain dowel bars. They are more effective at transferring load and accommodating movement and, due to their two-part construction, are more simple to install.
The sleeve component is nailed to the formwork and cast in with the first pour; drilling of either formwork or concrete is not required. Once the formwork is removed, the dowel component is pushed into the sleeve and cast-in with the second pour.
Our range includes solutions for suspended and ground bearing concrete slabs.
