CE, UKCA and CE UKNI marking from Leviat
On 31 December 2020, the transition period agreed between the UK and the EU drew to a close and will inevitably have an impact on construction product approvals. From January 1st 2021, the UK will recognise both the EU CE marking approvals, for a time limited period, and the new UK based approval system, which will be known as the UKCA mark. The EU will only recognise CE marking by EU notified bodies as proof of efficacy moving forwards.
Leviat has been working closely with both EU notified and UK approved bodies to ensure compliance is achieved at the earliest possible opportunity and we can confirm that we have obtained all relevant certification.
As a business, we hold EN1090 certification by EU notified and UK approved bodies. The EN1090 certification covers products such as masonry support, windposts and fabrications and therefore, we now offer a CE and UKCA mark for these products.
Our wall tie range is UKCA and CE UKNI marked and we can confirm that a core portfolio of our wall ties & restraint fixings that will be sold into the EU have been underwritten to ensure they retain their CE mark from 1st January 2021.
AMR Masonry Reinforcement products will also carry a UKCA mark and a CE mark, with AMR-X and AMR-CJ carrying a UKCA and CE UKNI mark.
Importantly, the UKCA marking rules do not apply to "existing stock." This means that pre-existing stock fully manufactured before 31 December 2020 and already conformity marked can legitimately use the CE Mark.
If you require an updated Declaration of Performance these are available on request. Please contact info.ancon.uk@leviat.com. These will be updated on the Ancon website in the near future.
As you would expect from a market leader, Leviat will maintain its commitment to providing the highest quality, compliant products to the market regardless of geographical location.
