Celebrating the future of bricklaying at the ABC Awards 2024
Leviat reaffirmed its commitment to the future of the UK bricklaying industry at the 2024 Association of Brickwork Contractors Awards late last month, again sponsoring the popular ‘Bricklaying Apprentice of the Year’ category.
In the gripping atmosphere of London’s St. Pancras Hotel, the judges in this category faced a tougher than usual decision. Finding it impossible to separate the skills of two of the four finalists, they ultimately decided to honour two outstanding apprentices, Alistair Corbett from Caxton Builders and Alexander Pérez-Bunce from Lee Marley Brickwork.
Presenting the winners with their awards, along with a personalised trowel from Leviat to symbolise their dedication to the art of bricklaying, Leviat’s National Business Development Manager, Peter Ashton, congratulated each on their outstanding talent and remarkable achievement, which said much for the health of the industry today, and in the future.
Lisa Sherburne-Kilby commented on the sponsorship:
“It is critical that the industry looks to its future, and from the level of skill and commitment I have seen from these two outstanding apprentices, the future is in good hands. Our thanks to ABC for their commitment to learning excellence, training and future development, through which they make a significant commitment to advancing the careers of tomorrow’s craftsmen.
Leviat is delighted to have been able to contribute to their journey, through our ongoing support and sponsorship for these Awards.”
