Construction industry remains open. Manufacturing at Leviat continues through latest national lockdown.

The health, safety and wellbeing of all those who work with us and for us, as well as the general public, is always our No. 1 priority.

On the 4th of January, Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a new national lockdown for England, the strictest since the initial lockdown in March 2020.

These new measures follow the emergence last month of a new variant of Covid-19 which the government’s scientists have found to be 50% to 70% more infectious.

The government’s National Lockdown Guidance document confirms that the construction industry will remain open, stating “people who work in critical national infrastructure, construction or manufacturing…should continue to travel to their workplace”, and classing builders merchants as essential retail.

Therefore, we would like to reassure all our customers that Leviat remains fully operational, with all departments and production facilities open, albeit with many of our team working remotely.

In addition, the Leviat management team in the UK are reviewing our current comprehensive range of Covid safe working practices in order to maintain employee and customer safety as a result of this more infectious variant, whilst still maintaining our service to our customers.

Count on our support as always.
