New Isolation System
Ancon’s stainless steel tension system is now supplied with isolation materials as standard.
This new isolation system enables stainless steel tie bars to be fixed to a connecting plate of a dissimilar metal. By separating the two metals, bi-metallic corrosion is avoided.
The components of a tie bar in contact with the plate are the fork connector and the fixing pin.
Each Ancon stainless steel fork connector is now supplied with two clear, self-adhesive, PET (polyester) washers. These washers should be applied to either side of the plate, around the fixing hole, prior to the installation of the fork.
Stainless steel pins now feature a PTFE coating around the barrel.
