With a Little Help From My Friends (ITV1)
Vinnie Jones and his old school pals used Ancon wall ties in the refurbishment of Bedmond Sports and Social Club on the ITV1 show ‘With A Little Help From My Friends’.
The programme makers required Vinnie to renovate the club’s changing facilities, bar area and spectator stand in only five days, without spending a penny and with only his former school friends to undertake the work. The ex-footballer turned Hollywood actor called on the generosity of numerous market leaders in the Construction Industry to supply the building materials required.
Within 24 hours of the request being made Ancon had supplied the site with ST1 Heavy Duty Wall Ties, free of charge.
Thanks to the hard work of Vinnie and his friends, and support from around the Industry, the project was completed on time.
Hard man Vinnie showed his softer side by agreeing to take part in the programme. It was a project that was designed to take him back to his roots in more ways than one; the Bedmond club was where Vinnie first started playing football at the age of eight and as a former hod carrier he was no stranger to life on a building site.
